Do Good December

In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to forget those who need support. This December, join us in making a meaningful difference during GoodPAYE’s ‘Do Good December’.

1. Give a donation

A small £10 donation can go a long way in making someone’s Christmas brighter. If you’re an employee, consider setting up a payroll giving donation through GoodPAYE and support the charities you care about most. It’s the most tax efficient and impactful way to donate, meaning it will cost you less to donate more. But if you’re unable to donate money this festive season, then use Christmas as an opportunity to donate unused items. Charities are always in need of clothes, toys and furniture – your contributions (whether large or small) can make a big impact on those in need. Need inspiration? Read our 10 ways to support charities article here.

Are you an Employer? Drop us a message to set up payroll giving for your organisation. Throughout December, we’re giving employees the chance to win £250 in vouchers if they set up a payroll giving donation.

2. Help others

‘Tis the season of giving, and that includes giving your time. Take a moment this December to perform acts of kindness—hold open a door, assist with shopping, or lend a hand with Christmas dinner. Charities also need your help. If you have a few hours to spare, consider volunteering at a local food bank or spend an evening helping a homeless charity. Explore volunteer opportunities on our Christmas page.

3. Treat Yourself

Amidst the holiday chaos, it’s crucial to prioritise self-care. Take a breather and make sure to enjoy the festive season. If financial stress is a concern, check out our webinar with debt charity, StepChange. There are some awesome tips to help managing the financial stress of Christmas.

But remember to indulge in activities you love. Whether that’s drinking hot chocolate by the fireplace, enjoying a cosy movie night, or taking a winter walk. Treat yourself to small moments of joy. This December, make self-care a priority and find those simple pleasures that bring you happiness. After all, a well-taken care of you can spread even more joy to those around you.
